As a passionate vocal teacher, Mai has extensive experience in classical music and beyond. With a bachelor’s degree in artistic singing from Tokyo and a master’s degree in music education from the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, she possesses extensive knowledge of vocal technique and pedagogical methodology.

Since 2022, she has successfully taught at various music schools in Switzerland and supervises numerous private students. Her intensive exposure to pop, rock, and jazz in Lucerne has also given her valuable knowledge of these genres.

In her teaching, she creates a supportive and welcoming learning environment that allows her students to freely develop their potential. She believes that everyone has the potential to develop and improve their vocal abilities and supports them enthusiastically on this journey.

Her teaching style is characterized by empathy, patience, and flexibility. She adapts her lessons to the individual level, age, and goals of her students, nurturing their musical personality.

Her master’s thesis on “Coping with Stage Fright in Musicians Using the Vagus Nerve” has provided her with valuable insights into the psychological and physiological aspects of musicians’ performance and enriched her teaching work.
